Hello friends,
Good news!
My second book Kind of, Sort of, Maybe, But Probably Not was launched not once, but TWICE last week. Firstly, at Readings Carlton with gal pals™️ Emilie Collyer and Jenny (JM) Green. And secondly, at Newtown’s Better Read Than Dead in a verbal tennis match with John Doyle (known better as “Rampaging” Roy Slaven).
Both events were full of wonderful people from all corners of my life. Also, there were homemade biscuits, laughter (mostly kind), tears (mostly mine), and a beautiful rendition of Monty’s Mix-tape Medley by my partner, Derek (you will need to read the book to understand this rather oblique reference).
In between launches, I managed to fit in a Library Event at Warringah Mall in Sydney’s Northern Beaches where several lovely Sydney writers gathered “of their free will”, including not one, but TWO other Penguin Literary Prize winners (James McKenzie Watson and Annette Higgs). Much like the Royal Family flying together, I think there are rules to prevent this kind of thing, but I was very glad to see them, nonetheless.
If you haven’t bought the book already, make sure you do. And if you have bought it, buy it again. Buy it for a friend! Buy it for a stranger! Buy it as a doorstop! Buy it just because it’s lovely and you’re lovely and I’m a little bit lovely too.
More soon…
Love

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT ‘KIND OF, SORT OF, MAYBE, BUT PROBABLY NOT’
‘Imbi Neeme writes the big and small moments of life with huge heart and boundless empathy. I finished this book in one great delicious gulp, laughing out loud, and I felt GOOD. And HAPPY. More books like this in the world, please.’
KATE MILDENHALL
‘Warm, wacky and wonderful. The mystery at the heart of this story cuts a path through the mysteries of all hearts, illuminating new, old and rekindled relationships with the sparkle, hope and melancholy of a ’90s share-house party.’
PAUL DALGARNO
‘I’m jealous of people who haven’t read this book yet, because they get to read it for the first time. Kind of, Sort of, Maybe, But Probably Not is spectacular, an absolute delight to read. Heartwarming, insightful and funny, I give it eleven thumbs up.’
KATHERINE COLLETTE
‘Imbi’s book is like buying a dress and discovering it has pockets.’
JM GREEN
‘A beautiful book.’
